this little project is based on a hand-cut looseleaf book by Swiss artist Dieter Roth. he developed many iterations of this idea in the '50s and '60s. The version re-created here is one of the later ones from 1964 which was in excecuted in black and white and measured 41cm square. you can get a feel for the intentions of this project in these images from the Princeton Graphic Arts Collection blog.
This project came after a conversation with Zucker Art Books, who provided me the specs for the pages of this edition. You can see many of Roth's hand-cut books on display in images their gallery exhibition of Roth's books from 2007.
